Sign up for training sessions on Canvas and other tools in Nuku
We have a range of group training sessions available for both teaching staff and support staff. This includes sessions focused on specific functionality of Canvas or other tools in Nuku, to facilitated course preparation sessions where you can work on anything you like in your Nuku course, while Faculty Learning and Teaching Advisors are on hand to help if needed.
If you would like to suggest a topic for a future session, please email: nuku@vuw.ac.nz.
Look out for these sessions in the Victoria Development LibCal and register now
Participate in user research about our learning platform change
Take this very short registration survey to participate in our research on the user experience impact of the change from Blackboard to the Canvas learning management system (LMS).
Participation is voluntary, and it’s open to both staff and students. The first survey you’ll be asked to complete will be about your experience of Blackboard, and subsequent surveys will be the same but about Canvas. We’ll use your registration details to contact you when it’s time to ask about Canvas. Email nuku@vuw.ac.nz for further information or questions.

What is the Learning Platform Project?
A learning platform is an integrated set of interactive online services that provide teachers, learners, and others involved in education with information, tools and resources to support and enhance educational delivery and management.
The term learning platform also includes the personal learning environment and physical learning environment. It is framework of tools that work seamlessly together to deliver a student centric learning experience by unifying educational theory & practice, technology and content. The core of this is the Learning Management system (currently Blackboard). We are reviewing our learning platform to ensure it fits the learning and teaching needs of Te Herenga Waka into the future. We are taking this opportunity to define how we want to teach and what we need for an excellent global student experience. |
